I'm going to blam this, but only because...

...I think just a LITTLE BIT of spit & polish (and some sound, if you can) would make a major difference. I actually kinda think it's cute, but not quite ready for prime time as-is. At least make it stop looping so that you have to click a "replay" button or something to make it play again. Sound would be wonderful, though, if you can swing it. Not bad, otherwise! :-)

Remeniscent of "Tomorow's Nobodies", but different

As in, like, there are two guys instead of 4... er 3, I think, now - not too clear on that just yet.... But anyway, very good work, if "work" is what it's to be called. ;-)

Excellent work

Loved the elevator music bit - classic. ;-)

Not bad for such a simple piece

Normally I would blam something like this for lack of trying. But there actually seems to be some decent meaning here. I'm surprised. I hope you decide to make a non-quickly sketched version of this some day, it looks like it has the potential of a beautiful - even if short - tale. :-)

I don't often say this, but...

...this one would actually have been a bit better if it were a bit shorter.

Yes, yes, I know, it's not your fault - the song is great and everything, and you animated to it perfectly - that's why I'm giving 5/5 10/10 - but in the overall experience of it, I'd have liked it a lot more if it had been a little less. ;-)

I dunno' who Megan is...

...but methinks me no wanna tick her off. :-#

Nice work! :-)

Oh you have no idea O_O

Not quite my style of humor, but...

...for the style of humor it is, you did a -most- excellent job of putting it into pictures. The way toons of the various speakers would just pop up in the middle of the scene when they spoke was cool. I especially liked the little dude to the right that popped into view with the cuevo in his hand - synced perfectly, of course. Great work! :-) Were I to try making this, I'd want to put more stuff in the background (I love details like that), but this flick isn't lacking anything for not having such visual clutter. :-)

A bit dry, but then homework usually is.

While I'm pretty sure you can do much better than this, it was nonetheless enjoyable. I don't recall ever having known the story of the man who formulated the periodic table of elements - it was interesting from an educational perspective. Hope you got a good grade on it. :-)

Noxx11 responds:

Thanks. I never can truly enjoy making homework assignments in flash, but then again who expects to enjoy doing homework? I'm glad you liked it anyway. :)

Not bad. Not bad at all. :-)

I didn't quite see that coming. Bravo! :-) I'd have done a bit more imagery of the violence and gore, though - but at least I got the point. :-)

I thought it all went together perfectly.

I've read some of your critics critiques, but I don't see what they're getting at. I thought it was very well put-together. What some seem to be criticising as "poor quality" I see more as simply a style of animation. If you can draw as well as you can in this toon, I'm sure you can draw more realistic and lifelike pics if you really wanted to. But for this flash, that's not what you were shooting for - that's just my guess, though. I think it worked perfectly. It didn't strike me in such a way as to make me want to cry, though - I do have to agree with that. But I could see the sadness in it, and it most definitely seems to pose a "question" of sorts - an unasked question we can all only answer in our own hearts and minds, in that place that nobody else can see but us and the eye of the universe, itself. The tears, if they are to come, will come if the contemplation this kind of flash can put you in draws you in that direction. If it doesn't, then you're not crying because you don't -need- to cry at the moment. I could sit here and think on this subject for hours, and I'd probably have a few very good sob sessions. Emotionality is in the heart of the beholder, after all. :-)

AloneInTheDark responds:

Thanks for the great review! It wasn't really my aim to make people cry with this animation. I wanted to show how every form of life is of such small relevance compared to the grander scheme of things. For me it's more about a realizing this with a smile on the face rather than feeling the need to cry.

Beauty is where you see it.
